Male models get ready for film debuts this year

Male models get ready for film debuts this year

Male models making their way to the big screen is not a recent Bollywood phenomenon. Of late, however, there’s been a certain rise in the number of ramp hotties queuing up to make their 70-mm debut.
We told you last year about Mumbai model Freddy Daruwala, who’s all set to make his debut with the Sanjay Dutt-starrer Sher this year. He will be joined by half-a-dozen colleagues as they all get set to move from ramp to reel.
Models Namit Khanna and Siddhant Chaturvedi will be starring in the comic thriller Bang Bang Bangkok, which is expected to release mid-year. Says Namit, “While good looks help, one has to work hard on acting skills too.” No wonder then that Mumbai model Sahil Shroff, who made his debut in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Don 2, has shifted to the US for a short-term acting course. We hear he has also found himself an American agent and is looking for international work.
Also, ready for a big break this year is Rohit Bal’s former boyfriend Lalit Tehlan. The Delhi lad has apparently signed a multi-film deal
with a production house and that is why he shifted to Mumbai last year. Kabir Singh is another one on the list. With his sharp features, the Delhi boy is eyeing negative roles and we hear he will be signing his first role in a South film in this quarter. Bangalore model Karan Rao has taken a step further — he turned producer last year with a small film titled Station and is looking to helm more projects now.
