Musical nirvana

    Viveck Shettyy and his band took centrestage at an exclusive gathering to welcome the New Year for ‘Puncham’, an NGO headed by Rani Poddar, at the Ali Baba Clay Oven in Colaba. The eight member band with Viveck Shettyy as the lead vocalist mesemerized the packed audience with various genres of music that included pop, sufi, contemporary bollywood and ghazals.
    Paani Da Rang Vekh ke, Teri Dewaane, Pal Pal Dil ke Paas were highly appreciated by the enthusiastic audience as they kept screaming for an encore. Dolly Thakore listened in rapt attention as the band belted out popular Bollywood hits and soon joined the ladies for a gig on the dance floor. Rani Poddar was in great spirits and all praise for the performance of the band as she presented them with a special memento on this memorable occasion. From the aisles to the stairs to the mezannine section on the top, the Ali Baba clay oven was packed to the hilt as Puncham members were grooving to an electrifying performance by Viveck Shettyy and his band. Madhuri Bhatia arrived well in time and so did Ruby Dalvina. Chura liya hai tumne jo dil ko received a thunderous applause from the audience. The 90-minute performance by Viveck Shettyy and his band was followed by a lavish lunch buffet spread. Rani Poddar played the perfect host and ensured all her guests were well attended to. The band concluded the event with pop
ular Bollywood hit Chalte Chalte, mere ye geet yaad rakhna, as the finale song for this musical nirvana. Hum laut aayenge, tum yu hi bulate rehna said Viveck
