Women and the gentleman’s game

Women and the gentleman’s game

Cricket has always been known as a gentleman’s game. But this IPL season, the women are grabbing eyeballs on the field as well. Female leads of Star Plus like Sandhya from Diya Aur Baati Hum, Pankhuri (Disha Parmar) from Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara, Kumud from Saraswatichandra appeared during the matches to give away the Nayi Soch awards to the cricketers. While Sandhya (Deepika Singh) presented an award to Ricky Ponting, regular housewife Doyel Sarangi got the opportunity to present it to captain cool MS Dhoni.
Says Sandhya, “This has been a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. It is truly an inspiring moment for me to be
able to bestow honour on the biggest names from international cricket.”
Says Pankhuri, “My father called to say that watching me among cricketers, presenting them with the award, has made him a very proud father.”

Disha Parmar, Vijay Mallya, Brijesh Patel and Chris Gayle
