A decade of celebration for Vagina Monologues

A decade of celebration for Vagina Monologues

It was an evening to celebrate woman power. American playwright and activist Eve Ensler, best known for her play The Vagina Monologues, visited India to mark 10 years of the play in the country, which was brought here by
Mahabanoo Mody-Kotwal and Kaizaad Kotwal to start a dialogue about ending violence against women. Eve, who has been fighting violence against women for over 15 years, also launched a new global movement called One Billion Rising from India to re-focus attention on violence against women. Usha Uthup and Manasi Scott performed at the event, but it was Suchitra Pillai who stole the show with her fullthroated singing, belting out one hit after another.
