Want to get a sexy body this year end? Try yogalates!

Listen up ladies. To fit into your LBDs this party season, try a new fitness regime that combines yoga with pilates

The new fitness mantra that’s caught everyone’s fancy is a fusion between yoga and pilates called Yogalates. This technique is a mix of the best of both disciplines and can be the next big core building and toning workout.
HOW IT HELPS The low-impact workout costs nothing, no props no expensive equipment and no fuss. There are specific postures and it requires a certain amount of meditative technique and thus acts as a destressor. While pilates concentrates on core or muscle control, yoga increases flexibility. And a combination of the two?

It tones the muscles and increases flexibility while burning calories. A single class has hatha yoga and pilates exercises, with moves like downward dog, mountain, and a pilates plank.
“There’s so much synergy between its parent disciplines,” says a fitness instructor from Hughes Road. “You’re not mindlessly on a treadmill or exercise machine. The mind is very focused on the body and on the breathing techniques. Those who have tried Yogalates say it helps exercise their body in an integrated way and so they like it.”

ADVANTAGES Boosts metabolism Improves blood circulation Burns calories

While yoga increases flexibility, pilates helps tone up
